Full-Time Patrol Sergeant
The Town of Hinsdale, NH (Pop. 4,203) is seeking a current certified law enforcement officer (New Hampshire preferred) to join our team as Patrol Sergeant. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in leadership, conflict management, have an empathetic nature, and an understanding of community policing. Applicants must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent with some higher education in the law enforcement/criminal justice field, plus at least six years of full-time certified law enforcement experience, two of which is a supervisory capacity, possession of a valid motor vehicle license. Certification by New Hampshire Police Standards and Training Council or the ability to obtain certification within a reasonable period of time based on prior law enforcement certifications. Must be able to pass a physical fitness test as required by the NH Police Standard and Training Council.

Overview:
We are seeking a current certified law enforcement officer (New Hampshire preferred) with at least six years of full-time patrol experience with at least two years of supervisory experience to join our team as Patrol Sergeant. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in leadership, conflict management, have an empathetic nature, and an understanding of community policing.
Responsibilities are not limited to:
-Provides supervision and guidance to patrol staff
-Assists command with administrative duties regarding patrol staff casework
The Sergeant must be able to perform all patrol duties expected of a patrol officer
Which includes some of the following:
-Patrol designated areas to ensure the security of premises and personnel - Respond to alarms - Enforce State laws and Town of Hinsdale Ordinances - Investigate Motor Vehicle Accidents - Assists in the investigation of crimes or suspected criminal acts - Write detailed reports outlining observations and activities during assigned shifts
Skills:
-Ability to motivate others towards a common goal within the workplace
- Conflict management skills -Communication Skills - Have a solid understanding of law enforcement procedures, to include State of NH and Federal Laws - Ability to type and write detailed reports
Qualifications:
